English to Spanish Translation Services – Quality Control Policy
After the proposal has been approved by the client or purchasing agent, we request the source files to be translated. Normally, the source files are shared via box.net or dropbox.net (share tools to collaborate in a secured way) but we are always adjust and adapt to clients’ own processes and methodologies.
Translator selection:
The most important determining factor of translation quality is the expertise of the translators. Thus, at Hispanic Market Advisors®, we make sure we match the right translator with the right project / subject themes.
The right use of translation technology:
If the scope of the project requires the use of translation technology, Hispanic Market Advisors uses Swordfish, one of the most advanced Translation Memory ™ tools. This tool allows us that the same phrases are translated identically and the terminology is used consistently even if different translators work on different portions of the document.
Editing process:
Hispanic Market Advisors requires that an editing team reviews the translated content to minimize (or ideally eliminate completely) the chances of errors or omissions in language or contextual meaning.
A Translation Project Manager is assigned to each project to serve as a single point of contact for each client or purchasing agent. The Translation Project Manager also is responsible that the process work-flow runs according to plan. Other responsibilities of the Translation Project Manager are:
- To communicate proactively with clients’ contacts and purchasing agents to resolve linguistic issues and technical problems, if any;
- To maintain multi-lingual glossaries and translation memory specific to all translation projects; and
- To document individual project history for future reference, if necessary
