UnidosUS y Walgreens lanzan una alianza educativa de COVID-19, comenzando con la gira móvil para brindar información vital a las comunidades latinas en Miami

— La gira móvil hará una parada en Miami del 9 de julio al 15 de agosto como parte de la campaña Esperanza Hope for All —

MIAMI, FL - 23 de julio de 2021 – (NOTICIAS NEWSWIRE) - UnidosUS (anteriormente el Consejo Nacional de La Raza), la organización de defensa y derechos civiles latinos más grande del país y Walgreens lanzan la gira móvil para educar a los residentes latinos sobre los beneficios de las vacunas del COVID-19.

La gira móvil, que comenzó en Miami el 9 de julio, hará paradas en áreas rurales y socialmente vulnerables. UnidosUS está aprovechando su red de afiliados locales para identificar ubicaciones como tiendas de comestibles hispanas, centros comerciales y tianguis para llegar a los residentes. Los afiliados se enfocarán en responder preguntas y proporcionar materiales educativos bilingües en cada parada. Este esfuerzo es parte de la campaña Esperanza Hope for All de UnidosUS en el sur de Florida y se realizará todos los fines de semana desde el 9 de julio hasta el 15 de agosto.

Como parte de la gira móvil, Walgreens y UnidosUS pondrán a disposición expertos y cuando corresponda y estén disponibles, los afiliados promoverán la vacunación en un Walgreens cercano o proporcionarán información sobre clínicas sin cita previa y clínicas ambulantes.

La gira por el sur de Florida se llevará a cabo de viernes a domingo y continuará el 23 de julio en Tropicana Flea Market, 2951 NW 36th St, Miami, FL 33142.

Un estudio reciente realizado por Change Research en nombre del Latino Anti-Disinformation Lab, un proyecto conjunto de Voto Latino y Media Matters, encontró que el 37% de los latinos encuestados han visto material o información que les hace pensar que la vacuna COVID-19 no es muy buena, segura o no muy efectiva y el 49% de los latinos encuestados piensa que la desinformación de COVID es un problema muy serio. La gira móvil es una forma en que UnidosUS está ayudando a cerrar la brecha de información, generar confianza sobre las vacunas del COVID-19 y garantizar que la comunidad hispana se incluya de manera equitativa en los esfuerzos de distribución de las vacunas en todo el país.La campaña Esperanza Hope for All se lanzó anteriormente en otras comunidades latinas en Houston; Dallas/Fort Worth; el Valle del Río Grande; El Paso, Texas; Phoenix; Yuma, Arizona/ Coachella Valley, CA; y Fresno/Stockton, California. La gira móvil llegó a más de 25,000 personas y difundió con éxito volantes de información culturalmente relevante y objetivamente correcta, invitando a la comunidad latina a tomar la mejor decisión con respecto a las vacunas.

La campaña Esperanza Hope for All tiene como objetivo mitigar el impacto negativo en la salud, la economía y la educación de la pandemia del coronavirus en los latinos. La campaña se basa en la defensa nacional y la respuesta de salud pública de la organización a la pandemia del 2020 y se centra en la promoción de la equidad de las vacunas.

UnidosUS se apoyará en su Red de Afiliados para liderar la educación y el alcance culturalmente receptivo mediante la capacitación de comunicadores locales de confianza, la información a través de comunicaciones bilingües; la provisión de recursos para eventos locales en materia de seguridad comunitaria y vacunación contra el COVID e involucrando a proveedores locales y socios comunitarios. Los esfuerzos incluyen ayudar a ampliar el acceso equitativo a las vacunas a través de los centros de salud Afiliados.
